Got mine yesterday. It's plain out neat. The humbuckers have a Marshall growl which makes the guitar sound differently than a Les Paul. I wished it had separate controls for the bridge and the neck but I'll live. I got the black and gold model. It's the same animal as the fancy quilted models. Just $500 cheaper. The gold is spectacular, the black is also well done. Really really nice sound. Great construction! Very we'll thought out! Great addition to my collection.

I just bought one of these, considering the low price range it seems pretty good, nice overall appearance with the bindings, backside inlay stripe going down the middle. Action and the playability is very good, I had an Alvarez Jumbo low priced and this one seems better for less money. The piezo pickup system with built in tuner (visual color change and meter style to detect various tuning levels) and has a phase button (type of effects). Made in China and that is why the price is this low, but the quality is pretty good for low priced guitar(s). Probably currently sounds better plugged in that not. I would change the plastic saddle and nut (to bone or Tusq types) and add brass bridge pins to achieve even better overall tone and sustain (cheap way to acquire such). The company has a reputation that goes back to around 1900 in mfg. guitars, they sell many types and styles...I gambled and bought this on a whim...for the price range I am happy thus far, just got it recently. This would be a great guitar for beginners, low budget folks or campfire guitar and a good addition for other more seasoned players to round out there types of guitars they use. The Jumbo (plugged in) does give you some deeper low end bass sounds on the 5th-6th strings, great for some songs.

Gibson Les Paul Signature T Gold Series Left Handed Alpine White Burst Review

I've had an on/off feeling about Gibson in general over the years. I've played some really nice ones that were out of my price range and many within the $2K limit I've set as my max price that just underwhelmed me. For a long time, I was convinced that the only hope of getting what I wanted in a Les Paul was some serendipitous pawn shop discovery. Last year, I bought a double-cut studio model via Craigslist that serves well as a gig backup and project guitar...but it just doesn't scratch that itch for the Les Paul sound, look, and feel I had admired so much in high school.

Enter the T series. This guitar embodies everything I've been looking for: '60s slim neck, reduced-weight body, locking tuners, higher output PAF-style pickups, a flame maple top, and a price close to $2K or less brand new out of the box. While the gold version brings the price up a bit, I felt it was worth it. The addition of push/pull coil splitting provides even greater flexibility in tone.

This guitar plays great. While I'm accustomed to the unfinished necks on my Ernie Ball Music Man models, I don't feel like this neck is too "grippy". The playability and action is smooth along the full length and the slimmer profile is comfortable even over long sessions. I played a four hour gig this past Saturday night and didn't even bother to bring out my other guitar when we switched to a different tuning. I was feeling this one so much that I just tuned down and kept going. I have no doubt now that this will become a stage regular for me. I'm not saying it's better than my EBMMs, but it does stand shoulder to shoulder with them and that's saying something in my opinion. I absolutely love the MM Petrucci models and any guitar that can hang with them is impressive to me.

I was a little nervous about making this purchase online, but it arrived in perfect condition in the box...new smell and all, looking sweet in that vintage sunburst that is just dark enough at the edges without going black. The binding is flawless, the granadillo fretboard is a bit lighter in color than rosewood, but it looks great to me. I like the fact that they just did a stain and finished the back, rather than painting it over like I've seen on so many LPs - the mahogany is nice and should not be covered up.

Intonation, action, and so on was good and I made no adjustments outside of a string change before going live with it. The action is a bit higher than the MMs, but it feels good and I'll probably leave it alone for a while.

To sum up, I'm very happy with this guitar. This is exactly what I've been looking for in a Les Paul and it has renewed my faith in Gibson. I checked the born-on date and found it to be February 8th of this year - made at the Nashville plant. I'd like to say thank you to everyone there!

Godin Guitars 036424 Seagull Heart of Wild Cherry CW Folk SG AC1.5T Acoustic-Electric Guitar Review

I didn't buy this guitar through Amazon, rather from my local music store on a complete whim, and I'm glad I did. I like smaller body acoustics as they are more comfortable for me to play, even though I'm a big guy, so this one caught my eye. It's a very pretty guitar, simple yet elegant in its own way. The neck is also a little wide to allow for bigger fingers to play and fret notes more easily, so this was a plus for me. For $599, solid cherry back and sides, with a solid spruce top, no faux wood in sight, I felt that this little acoustic couldnt be beat. Only problem I've had is the on board tuner isn't working, but my local guitar shop is going to look into it, possibly replacing it if need be. This is a minor gripe and easy fix in my eyes, because tuner and electric pickup aside, this guitar sounds flawless just playing pure acoustically. Highly recommended, especially for the guitarist on a budget.
