I have purchased 3 of these tam-tams over the last 10 years (different schools) and am very impressed with the sound they produce. Huge dymnamic range, marvelous overtones. We often times keep this instrument out even when it is not called for because it adds so much to the color of the band tone. Although it doesn't respond very quickly, needing plenty of warm-up, the resulting tones are the best I've heard. (Supplied mallet is a joke though)
