I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas. The only negative is that the gig bag is a thin cloth material and is completely unpadded, so it provides only minimal protection; you may need to purchase a real gigbag or case if you plan to travel to and fro with this bass. Meanwhile, the positives are many. First of all, this is cosmetically very appealling. My girlfriend loved it right away...purple with sparkles!! Secondly, it is a great starter bass made of nice woods and decent hardware and pickups. Great all around value!! I was so impressed that I bought myself an SX SJM-62 guitar. I plan to use that guitar for semi-pro gigs, after some minor tweeks.
