I was looking for a china cymbal with a powerful "TSH!" sound. I got a Sabian Xs20 18" but I didn't like it at all - sounds gongy and metallic to my ears. I started looking online for a china with the sound I wanted - heard some Wuhans which came close, didn't like the Paistes - and then I heard a demo on Youtube of the Stagg Traditional Lion 20" China. Now, I know cymbals never sound like they do on videos, but this cymbal seemed to have the sound I was looking for. I found another vid where they compared several sizes of the Staggs, and decided to get the largest (22"). Guess what - I LOVE it! This sound is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Almost like a china "whip". Loud, too! If this is what you want - check it out on YT for an idea. BTW, I ended up getting the 20" as well, and right now it's my favorite out of all my cymbals, with the 22" an almost #1-tied 2nd. Highly recommended! Last thing - if you compare to some other cymbal lines, these are not so pretty - they have little dents, surface/finish irregularities, etc; which I believe come from the manufacturing. To me, this means nothing, but FYI.
