Don't hesitate to buy this clarinet. It really escapes me how nobody has ever heard of it. It is a great quality instrument for the money. My daughter played the 217 version for 2 years in her elementary school band. It was a beautiful instrument, but unfortunately it was knoked down from a desk and broke at the middle joint. I tried to find the same model to replace it and I couldn't, so I bought this one, which turned out to be a newer version of the same thing. It's very well made, with quality materials, the lows are deep, the highs are clean, it's all that and more. The case it comes with is quite fancy too, though I prefer a regular yamaha style plastic case. But my daughter loves this one, so I'm good.
Now that the old clarinet is broken, I epoxied it and started playing it myself, so I can vouch - it's easy to play, even for a complete beginner - just buy a smaller size reed (it comes with size 2 1/2, size 2 is easier to play), and it sounds beautiful.
