This is a good piccolo -- but the Amazon description of it is wrong.

The material (headjoint and body) of the Seaman Storm piccolo is NOT "grenadilla wood" but instead a synthetic composite material that much more suitable for outdoor use, such as in a marching band. Wood is bad for marching bands because wood is sensitive to temperature and humidity.

Also, the keys of the Storm are silver-plated -- NOT "solid" silver.

Amazon should be very careful about misrepresenting this instrument. Any student looking for a piccolo made from composite material might overlook this instrument because the Amazon description says it is made of wood -- when it is not made of wood at all.
