I needed a case to hold my assembled DSLR video rig for local transport. This case would most certainly meet that need, and survive a nuclear blast. Talk about durable and rugged....

Downside is weight and bulk, as in too much, at least for my daily needs carting a bulky, lightweight and fragile camera rig to various locations.

If you need an indestructible shipping case that will definitely survive anything airline baggage handlers can throw at it, this is your case. It's rated ATA 300 Category I. The Air Transport Association's Specification #300, Category I means the case can survive 100 airline trips. By comparison, Category II will survive only 10 trips. This case is STRONG.

Outside dimensions (including molded bumpers) are: approximately 18-1/2" tall x 27" wide x 28" long (those are roughly the size of the cardboard box it arrived in). Base is 14" deep external, lid is 4-1/4" deep. Has two wheels and a retractable handle to drag it about.

This is one heavy duty shipping case, just too much for my needs. I ended up getting a Gator Speaker Bag Fits SRM450 with Wheels and Molded Bottom (GPA-777), which is designed to carry a 15" powered speaker. I use it like a very large soft padded camera bag that has wheels and a handle.

UPDATE: Make sure you want to keep this case. It was free shipping to receive it, but to return this item, as its shipping box is oversized and weighs 36.2 pounds, cost me $92 to ship via UPS Ground from LA to NY.

Worse, the UPS guy laughed at me when he read the shipping contents as "Empty shipping container," then commiserated with me when he said, "Oooohhh. Ninety two bucks! That hurts."
