I got this kit because I'm a starting out drummer, and I want to play metal/Death Metal. Being in a band for a long period of time, I knew that Sonor would provide for my needs for drumming for any type of metal. I got this kit as a shell kit, off of Ebay," Dales Drum Shop," everyone there was really nice, and helpful. My item arrived quickly too. I'm still getting the stands and stuff for it. The stock heads aren't bad, but I'm going to have to replace them for Evans, to get the metal sound I need. The bass drum head I may not even have to replace, I'm not sure, yet though. I know for a fact this set will serve its purpose if you're wanting to play metal/death metal/rock/Jazz. The reason why I say Jazz, is because the stock heads sound a little more Jazzier, then rock. Overall, though, it's a good set.
