I really like the neck on this guitar. I am learning blues guitar and Ragtime finger picking. I wanted the 1 inch nut and the ooo body. I need the nice wide string spacing because my left hand is a little messed up from an industrial accident. I also play bottleneck slide. My Recording King came double boxed and arrived in great shape. I got mine at Christmas and the delivery was right on time as promised. The Model is RO-17 and it has no pickguard. These are things I needed to know but the product description didn't tell me. The strings were crap. They looked old and turned my fingers black. That was no biggie. I always change out to light gauge strings anyway. However, when I put the new ones on, the tuners for the two bottom strings stripped out. They are not high quality. I am now going to put some Grover Sta-Tites on it. That's about $50 that I didn't want to spend, but I like this Guitar too much to send it back. I got mine for $192.00 so with the new tuners it cost me about what they sell for now. I'll add to this review when I get the new tuners.
Update: I got the new tuners, Grover Stay Tites. Great tuners but they don't fit without modifications to the headstock. I finally took it to a guitar shop. They put the tuners on and did a setup. They are a Recording King dealer and they said that almost any Chinese guitar needs a setup because they skip that step. That's one reason guitars from China are cheaper. Anyway get it setup! My guitar plays and sounds so nice now, I love it. I play it every day and it brings me joy.
