This Walden guitar is a perfect "starter" guitar. It sounds great with all types of string gauges (I have tried Daddario light, medium, Phosphor Bronze, and coated), and looks beautiful; I have the Indian Rosewood back and sides. I have owned my Walden for 12 months and have had three different people (people I did not know personally) tell me it sounds just like a Martin. This was the first guitar I have purchased, but have had the opportunity to play many guitars, and I am perfectly satisfied with the Walden. Walden is a very respectable company, and the guitar is great value. For the price, you can't go wrong.

This is a purpose built finger style guitar that has a beautiful rich tone that rewards a light touch. This is definitely not a heavy strummer. The fit and finish and appontments are surprisingly high end for this price point. It is a light guitar and has a satin finish which resonates extremely well right out of the box. Perfect action and fretboard. To put in perspective the next best sounding guitar I have for finger style is a Taylor 814CE. The only weak point on this otherwise flawless guitar were the really cheap tuners that were quickly replaced with some Gotoh's. The folks at Hole in the Wood are a pleasure to deal with. Awesome guitar at an awesome price. You won't be disappointed.

This thing is as nice a guitar as you could ask for especially for the money they are asking for it.
I bought one from Lane music out of Knoxville TN and couldn't be happier.
Good bass for the size and super articulate. The setup out of the box could be just a little lower but it plays fine and I'm not going to spent the money to change a thing.Its loud enough with just my fingers a pick really makes some noise. Each string is the same volume so nothing stands out more than anything else. Chords sound like an organ or piano. To be honest I don't think you could get a better guitar even if you payed 2500 or 3000 dollars for a Taylor or Martin or Gibson.

Walden Guitars G570CE Natura Series Acoustic-Electric Review

Knowing many no-name brands are of very close quality as many well known brands these day, I planned to find a cheap axe to replace my good one, out on loan for a while. I ended up spending actually a little more on this one than I had planned, considering it was competing with a very nice looking Washburn, that played great and a nice mid-line Ovation, with many years of seasoned track record and fame. They were both less. I couldn' help it, the Walden was far superior in my mind as far as build quality, tone, action and value. I picked up a very similar Martin in the $1500 price range and I actually liked the Walden better. I've played many years and was just impressed with all the features and build level of this guitar, compared to anything in it's price range. It has nitro cellulose finish, scalloped X bracing, solid spruce, etc. You can compare the stats yourself. My only complaint is that while a well made, functioning gig bag comes with it, it offers little to no protection or padding, like many other cheaper brands do come with. You would be wise to buy a good hard case for this and toss the bag. I think as far as fretting, tone, value I believe you will be wise to compare this one in person before purchasing something else in this price point. Excellent guitar.

Warwick Corvette Rockbass $$ Bass Guitar (5 String, Oil Finish, Honey Violin) Review

The Warwick RockBass Corvette Double Buck. It's a mouthful to be sure, and one heck of an instrument.

Having spent the last 2 days running it through its paces, it's already replaced my custom-built Carvin 5-string (dual J-pickups with active electronics) as my primary instrument.

Pros:
- The honey violin oil finish looks and feels fantastic
- Dual humbuckers deliver extremely solid tone
- Passive electronics and controls are extremely capable and flexible - and no need to change a battery, ever
- Pull a volume knob to split that pickup into 2 single coils - like having 4 jazz bass pickups!
- Very nicely contoured tone knob - not just a high cut; doesn't seem to change perceived loudness
- Included strap locks are some of the best I've seen
- Arrived with action and pickup height set just about perfect

Cons:
- Intonation needed to be adjusted significantly when bass arrived, but that's likely to be expected.
- String saddle adjustment screws are positioned at a difficult angle - have your right-angle screwdriver handy
- Came strung with strings I can only classify as "beginner" - be sure to get an extra set of your favorites if you purchase this instrument

Overall, a very capable instrument for the money. I'd recommend the Planet Waves 3 Inch Wide Bass Guitar Strap w/ Internal Pad, Black which, combined with the strap locks, makes a fine partner for the Warwick.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This instrument is NOT the German-made Corvette $$ 5-string as the Product Features (by error) would have you believe. This is, in fact, the Chinese-made RockBass version of the Corvette $$. It has a maple neck (NOT ovangkol) with a rosewood fretboard (not wenge). This instrument does not come with a gig bag; it arrives well-wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box.

Also, the finish is not "high polish", but a satin oiled finish. This is a plus, however. You can feel the grain of the wood on the body, which is what I always loved about Warwick oil-finished basses.

Do your research before buying this instrument, but if you are sold on the RockBass Corvette $$, you can buy with confidence.

Warwick Thumb Bolt-On Neck Bass Guitar (Standard) Review

This bass is superb. I have had plenty of bass guitars, but the Thumb is undeniably the best performing instrument I've owned. Recently having upgraded from the Warwick Corvette, to the Thumb, one major detail that can't be left unsaid, is the weight. The Thumb is noticeably light (especially compared to the heavy Corvette). Even while being on a much higher plain quality wise, this instrument manages to stay paper-light. Believe it or not, I am writing this review a whole four years after my initial purchasing of the Thumb. I am happy to say, over the course of the last four years, I have had ZERO major problems related to this instrument. I highly suggest this guitar for any serious musician, and/or bass enthusiast. Not to mention, you will be hard pressed to not catch some desiring eyes wherever you unveal the thumb..
