The Warwick RockBass Corvette Double Buck. It's a mouthful to be sure, and one heck of an instrument.

Having spent the last 2 days running it through its paces, it's already replaced my custom-built Carvin 5-string (dual J-pickups with active electronics) as my primary instrument.

Pros:
- The honey violin oil finish looks and feels fantastic
- Dual humbuckers deliver extremely solid tone
- Passive electronics and controls are extremely capable and flexible - and no need to change a battery, ever
- Pull a volume knob to split that pickup into 2 single coils - like having 4 jazz bass pickups!
- Very nicely contoured tone knob - not just a high cut; doesn't seem to change perceived loudness
- Included strap locks are some of the best I've seen
- Arrived with action and pickup height set just about perfect

Cons:
- Intonation needed to be adjusted significantly when bass arrived, but that's likely to be expected.
- String saddle adjustment screws are positioned at a difficult angle - have your right-angle screwdriver handy
- Came strung with strings I can only classify as "beginner" - be sure to get an extra set of your favorites if you purchase this instrument

Overall, a very capable instrument for the money. I'd recommend the Planet Waves 3 Inch Wide Bass Guitar Strap w/ Internal Pad, Black which, combined with the strap locks, makes a fine partner for the Warwick.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This instrument is NOT the German-made Corvette $$ 5-string as the Product Features (by error) would have you believe. This is, in fact, the Chinese-made RockBass version of the Corvette $$. It has a maple neck (NOT ovangkol) with a rosewood fretboard (not wenge). This instrument does not come with a gig bag; it arrives well-wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box.

Also, the finish is not "high polish", but a satin oiled finish. This is a plus, however. You can feel the grain of the wood on the body, which is what I always loved about Warwick oil-finished basses.

Do your research before buying this instrument, but if you are sold on the RockBass Corvette $$, you can buy with confidence.
