Product Description
The ESN10C Acoustic - Electric Dreadnought Guitar is a special version of the famous "Natural Series" and features a Sitka spruce top with a light satin finish for exceptional acoustic tone.Built on the popular dreadnought platform, the Takamine ESN10C acoustic-electric guitar features a cutaway design, adding comfort and range when accessing the upper-register frets. The top is solid sitka spruce, giving a broad dynamic range to its sound and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. The back and sides are mahogany, adding projection and definition to the sustain. The mahogany neck is strong and durable, and the rosewood bridge and fingerboard complement the dreadnought's clear tone. Other luxurious appointments include a double-bridge saddle, bone nut and saddle, natural wooden rosette, two-way truss rod, scalloped bracing, dot inlays, and a light satin finish. CT4B electronicsAt the heart of this Takamine is its CT4B electronics section. The CT4B preamp is designed for ease of use and purity of tone. It consists of three bands of graphic EQ tone control, a volume control slider, and a built-in chromatic tuner. The desired tone is dialed in by using sliders to add or subtract frequency response as desired. The built-in chromatic tuner is extremely accurate, very easy to use, and capable of being calibrated to frequencies other than standard A440, so your Takamine ESN10C guitar will stay in key-whatever that key happens to be. To facilitate silent on-stage tuning, the tuner's power button acts as a mute switch when the guitar is amplified.Takamine ESN10C Ac/El Dreadnought Guitar Natural Review
I really like this guitar. It's made in Japan. The neck needed a minor tweak out of the box and it was down to 1/32" action. Solid Spruce top. Back and Sides are Sapele laminate. Rosewood string-thru bridge (no pins!)with two offset saddles. Neck is solid African Mahogany with a two-way truss rod, rough cut on CNC machinery and cut to final shape, sanded, and finished by hand. Rosewood fretboard. Tuners are good. Stays in tune very well (Peterson Clip tuner). Sounds very good plugged in. Sturdy end-pin output jack. It has a strap button on the neck. I think it has a nice, balanced sound unplugged. This is designed primarily as a stage guitar to be used plugged in. The use of laminates is not a cost-cutting measure. It's is designed to help fight feedback by reducing vibration in the body. I sent a couple of pre-sale e-mails to Takamine US and Japan and received timely and complete answers to my questions. The recommended case is the GC1128T. I purchased a Kyser 6/12 String Lifeguard Humidifier #16154 to protect from drying. All-in-all very satisfied with this instrument. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Takamine ESN10C Ac/El Dreadnought Guitar Natural" are high quality item.
