The Voyage Air Guitar TelAir folding electric guitar is the latest of our new TransAxe series electric guitars and pays tribute to one of the most popular guitars ever; the Fender Telecaster. This TelAir has a stunning semi transparent high gloss Lake Placid Blue finish, and wears a beautiful white pick guard. For the Tele accurate tone, this guitar is fitted with two custom Tone rider "Vintage Plus Alnico" pickups. Additional feature are a three position toggle switch and concentric volume/tone controls. The tone is biting with cut, and is everything you'd ever want out of your vintage Telecaster. Fitting its professional, performance ready status, this guitar was designed and set up in California and sports deluxe features ordinarily found on much more expensive instruments: solid Alder wood body, solid Canadian Maple neck topped with a maple fingerboard, mother of pearl fret position dots, chrome hardware, string thru body bridge that's adjustable for individual string intonation and height. Included at no additional cost is the Dura Trans case which fits easily in the overhead of most airlines. Voyage Air Guitars has really pioneered here and made a great series of portable instruments. That said, I have to say that I think their quality control is lacking. This guitar is really nice overall but the tone knob on mine was severely intermittent and noisy upon receiving it. It's also the strangest neck I've played on an electric guitar. It's like a little baseball bat or club, thick and fat with a completely flat feeling fretboard and really low frets. It plays decent but it's really strange feeling compared to all my other electrics. I think they do a much better job of playability on their acoustics but again quality control and fit and finish are an issue there. If you are strictly concerned about portability I don't think there is a cooler choice than this. for playability you can do much better. The overall tones are good (if your tone knob works) but the guitar seems very bright compared to all of my other guitars so you'll need that tone knob to work to roll off quite a bit of high end at times.
